Colchester Theatre Group was formed in 1953 and since then has mounted over 120 productions. Each year we stage 3 or more productions, now mostly at the Headgate Theatre. Variety is the key to our choice of plays. Our members take on the many roles and tasks that theatre requires – acting, directing, set construction, lighting, sound, front-of-house, costumes, publicity, properties and, last but not least, prompt. We have celebrated many successes within our local theatre guild and several of our members have gone on to drama school and careers in the theatre.
