is arguably the theatrical if not the poetic masterpiece of Thomas
Stearns Eliot's (1888 - 1965). First produced in 1935 in Canterbury
Cathedral, it has remained a masterpiece of English drama.
The play deals with the conflict between two former friends St Thomas
Beckett and King Henry II which ends in murder. |
